You Will Be Bored

I just might be paranoid. Not really. I don't know I'm listening to terrible music just to mix things up a little. Anyway, uh, yes finals! I am currently making a list of kinases receptors and proteins of interest for my Cell Function and Regulation class. So fun!

Of course, this has been a fun finals week. Studying and all that stuff. I drank milk green jasmine tea with boba and it was delicious. Okay, so today I remembered about the Abundance of Claudias project and am going to write it here. I really don't have all that much to say. I'm thinking about starting an actual diary blog because I'd rather not have people know who I am. Interesting things happen in my life but I don't want to expose others and to be honest it is very difficult to open yourself up to the masses. Anyway, maybe I'll make a private blog or something. Some fun stuff has happened in my life and I have several things I want to make happen. Anyway more to come later and I definitely will have a more structured blog next time I blog. This was more for the sake of procrastination.

Another Day, Another Dolla'

Hey,

It's me again. Just poppin' in to update the wide world of my blog.
I don't have much to say so this will be another filler-blog...yup.

The more I repeat stories the more likely I will remember the little details later in life. Especially if I revisit them. Jill (one of my roommate's whose name has been changed to safeguard her identity) remembers the story of a dumb-as-a-door-knob peer who out of nowhere did an impersonation of a baby during a history class. I wasn't there but I've asked her to recount the story enough times that I can just imagine this girl thinking her impersonation would be all quirk and cuteness, but sadly for her it was not so. Instead everyone probably just wondered what the heck made her think it would be okay to make a baby voice and to rock back and forth or whatever it is exactly that she did.

Part of me can relate to this young lady. Often, I find that I act on impulse and it has led to many great decisions but also to some not-so-great decisions. Here is a list of great and cringe-worthy things I have done:

1) Pig Day at the Davis Farmer's Market! I just got back from that. I went with my roommate and her boyfriend. We partook of the merriment by petting a sheep (a shoop? two sheep!), eating delicious hot dogs and enjoying some tangy tangelos. I got one particularly sour tangelo and some funny comments from the hot dog man. Overall, 'twas quite a pleasant afternoon.

2) Deciding to kick a beach ball at high school graduation, missing and landing on my behind on the grass. In front of all the parents and my peers.

3) Jumping into Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the U.S. bra-less. This means getting out was awkward because I had to wait for the crowd of three people lauding my bravery to leave before getting out lest they see everything through my orange t-shirt. (This one is both great and cringe-worthy)

4) Dance Party on some random Country Road near Woodland.

5) Swimming in the mornings with a guy I met on Halloween. All we talked about between laps was physics and how I once helped build a robot...also a big German man jumped over my head and splashed water in my face. Also, the guy claimed to look like Superman. It was not a good thing.

6) Dressing up as a Potato. I copied this from one of my favorite amigas, Laura E. Son of Thomp but made it my own by being a Mr. Potatohead. Pretty much awesome.

7) "Yeah, your sister Samantha" is what I said. My friend had never told me his sister's name so when he asked how I knew it, I figured honesty was the best policy and replied "Facebook." The rest of the drive was barely bearable for me. Knowing too much about people via social networking sites is bad. Also, always think before you speak.

Anyway, there's a lot more but for now I will leave it at this. I also don't know why I named this "Another Day, Another Dolla'" but I must remain true to this initial title and I refuse to change it so "Another Day, Another Dolla'" it is.

Keep it real,

Claudia
This is a picture of my feets in Mexico, it has nothing really to do with this post.

Inaugural Blog

So this is what it's like to blog. I guess as I learn more about the blog world and all the fancy options I have for spicing a blog up, the more readership I shall garner. As of now it is just me and thus I have resolved that first and foremost I must make this blog appealing to me, it's sole readership and not to mention the soul of this blog.  So the next few paragraphs should matter only to me and have no real great flow or anything. Mostly I want to improve my writing skills, "hone them" if you will. Also, please do. I also want to document my life, I guess. Back in the day people kept journals, but those are dangerous. What if I dropped it and my crush finds it? What if it gets lost and published by some other person claiming it as work of her own?

My grammar will improve as I continue to blog, I hope. By now (my fourth and final year of college) I have forgotten all about the proper placement of semicolons, apostrophes after s's, appropriate italicization, dashes, parentheses, etc. Clever usage of puns also escapes me (as my sole/soul sentence indicates) and to be frank it has been quite the challenge to make sure most of my sentences don't start with "I", "So", "The" or "And".

A few weeks ago I read a short story by a couple of friends of mine, and their ability to induce warm fuzzies in my tummy led me to believe that words have magical powers. Actually, I already knew they do just as much as I know simple actions can have magical powers, but the story reminded me that these things are so and so I am writing some words of my own. If anything this will remind me at some point in my later life that Sam and Amanda did indeed lead me to have a warm fuzzy in my tummy and that will be enough to make me smile.

That is all for now. Although this blog has been cheesy thus far, do not be fooled, I am a lady of many secrets and mysteries and little do you know what I will think of next. It could be anything so stay tuned and thanks for watching.

Love, Peace, Happiness, Eat, Love, Harry Potter, Blah,

Claudia
